House of Sampoerna Museum (English Version)

Museum House of Sampoerna (HOS), a museum owned by the Sampoerna family who keep the historical traces of their efforts to build a business emporium of cigarettes since 1913. Once the location is the first cigarette factory Liem Seeng Tee, the founder of Sampoerna tobacco company. This place is now more famous by the name of the Garden of Sampoerna. Until now functions also as a factory-rolled, only the front is now used as a Museum & Cafe.


The side of the museum is the Sampoerna family residence past. Dutch-style architecture. Now no longer inhabited, but the visitors still forbidden to enter into. Between the same house museum, a Rolls Royce parked sweet old-fashioned family-owned Sampoerna who once seized the Japanese occupation period.


Go deeper into the back, you'll find great family photos displayed neatly Sampoerna. In addition, visitors are shown historic objects used for the production of cigarettes Sampoerna. On the 2nd floor there is It's A Store. Stores that sell trinkets and merchandise Sampoerna also objects of cultural signature of Indonesia. There is a puppet show, mask, books, clothing to key chains. From the ground up, in the afternoon we could see busy workers are more engrossed in rolling cigarettes. Formerly part of this factory is one of the largest theater building in East Java.
